I wake up at 2-3 AM every night no matter what time i try to go to sleep so it disrupts my sleep. Anyone know the reason for this?
I took so much one night that I had a dream that I needed to fart. I woke up the next morning covered in crap. I honestly thought in my dream I farted and I remember giggling in my sleep. It was terrible and I had to to get rid of the mattress. I'll never take Melatonin again.
Does it also helps anxiety indirectly along with the sleep primarily. Did that worked for anyone of you? I dont wanted to be a slave to those anxiety pills
It's good used in moderation. Dangerous if you abuse it. Take it from me🤣🤣 I had sleep deprivation for 16+ months due to poor sleep and abuse of melatonin so I had to detox it out of my system. My mental health is/was probably at an all time low, I developed a tick (only in private 🤔) and had a red mark on my forehead (pineal gland) and it was there for many months and a roll on for my head🤔 took the mark away eventually but I've no doubt the effects are still present under the skin. I hope to get a MRI scan to see what damage has been done if any and if they see issues then I can only imagine what my brain looked like at it's peak.
I started off with 3mg and it was like being tucked into a cloud. I only used them for a week and then many months off but I guess over time I developed a tolerance and 3mg went to 6mg, 6mg to 9mg and then I moved on to 10mg tablets and they worked like the 3mg did at first but only for a bit and I found myself taking 2 or 3 of those 10mg tabs at a time like a fucking idiot. I was just desperate for sleep. I'm on an anti depressant as a sleep aid which is random when and if it works.
Thankfully my pineal gland still works which is ideal as a lover of DMT smoking/vaporising
Valerian root is a good alternative (you can take it in pill form, I've been taking it as 400MG). It didn't make me drowsy per se, but I fell asleep quickly. Had more vivid dreams, and woke up feeling well rested. It's apparently good as an anti anxiety too.
It DID however, make me feel more drowsy initially when waking up, also a little dizzy for a few hours. This might suggest a lower dose.
Valerian looks like it needs more research, but so far it has no evidence of being harmful from what I've personally found (there are some suggestions it could affect heart rate by lowering it, so if you have heart rate issues it's better not to take).
Do your own research though, don't take my word. But it seems to be a safer/healthier option, with less extreme effects (won't knock you TF out you'll just have a good steady sleep). I need to do more research on Melatonin though.
What they need is far more sun-down darkness (and less stress in the evening increasing cortisol) to make more of your own melatonin. If you supplement with melatonin (ie fake your body's natural process) then you risk building up PLP which is your body's store of vitamin B6. This is neurotoxic so makes you feel agitated and can lead to neuropathy.
When you eat tryptophan foods your body gets the 'co-factors' (including vitamin B6) it needs to make serotonin and then convert that to melatonin on sundown. So you want this process to play out in full. We use far too much light in the evenings and this excess stored plp is causing all kinds of issues but the doctors are not even aware of it.
Not enough tryptophan in the diet is the main reason muscles waste in illness as the body cannot use fats or glucose to make the alert hormone serotonin so breaks down muscles to access the amino acid tryptophan in there. The more stress and feeling unsafe you have along with bright lights the more tryptophan your body will demand. I wish hospitals knew this!
Is it safe to take melatonin in long term ? Any side effects if I take it around 5 or 6 months? And if its not how long does it take to stop using melatonin .
Don’t believe what this doctor is saying probably getting paid by these companies snd manufacturers of melatonin. Anyway do the research that melatonin increases anxieties and results increase in OCD behavior. Now also found out that sleep walking and talking in your sleep is another side effect. So why didn’t this doctor left all the side effects out hmmmmm take a guess.

Melatonin and pink noise have been very helpful for me
The alternate would be magnesium

I've heard it's really not good for you at all.

Most bossy and predominating female anchor ever … sassy would be the right word.
Menopause doesn't help either.
I take 10mg daily. Hopefully it’s not too bad for me.
What it you eat 10 x 10mg gummies. Is that bad?
He wears a white coat cos he's gotta do some painting and decorating straight after the show.
Meh. A six-pack of beer every night does the trick for me.
It is hard to get 1mg tablet so end up breaking it
