  1. Dr. Berg, thank you for this video! My husband had his first seizure ever a couple days ago, the doctor said it was probably due to his stroke back in 2010, and put him on Keppra. Well, it really makes him tired and weak, and after only 3 doses he refuses to take it again. He is pretty much low carb, not totally keto, and hasn't used the MCT oil (I take it every day in my bullet coffee!). We will definitely add MCT to his diet and work on getting him into ketosis to avoid any more episodes! One seizure was one too many!!

  2. 6 months ago my roommate was in the hospital for 3 week with encephalitis. Since being released from the hospital she now has seizures and has severe memory loss. She holds on to bits and pieces from the last 2 days but ultimately retains nothing new…majority of her past memories are gone as well but she can remember people/places and some random memory’s but not a lot. She is on 5 different pills for seizures and still has 4-5 a week. We have been doing Keto for 4 days now and so for we are 2 days seizure free. Going to add MCT oil the the diet after seeing this. Hopefully it goes well and we can start reducing her meds and see if it will help her retain memories. Thank you for the video, gives us a little more hope 🙂

  3. Dr berg I don’t think fasting is a good idea for seizures I had seizures whenever I fasted in the past, fasting for short time doesn’t cause seizures more longer than that might trigger seizures

  4. I have epilepsy , I’m more interested in the fasting side. what do you mean by fasting? Water fasting? Intermittent fasting ? Etc. If so for how long for? 20:4,16:8 etc . Would really be greatful for your feedback

  5. Thank you for sharing this info. Always saw the link between blood sugar and seizure activity but never thought of ketones as being a better fuel for neurons. Very helpful Dr. Berg TY !!

  6. Dr Berg thank you so much for talking about this!My seizures started happening again in 2019 after 8 years seizure free. None of my drs are interested in diet and all are forcing hard pharmaceuticals with terrible side affects. My seizures have gotten less severe using the keto diet and I just started including mct. I'm hoping to not have to take pharmaceuticals to remain seeizure free because I don't feel I can have a good quality of life while on them.

  7. I started watching your videos recently. I want to adopt KETO diet soon. Before doing so I want to learn much and much more about KETO. One thing related to this specific video I want to ask, my brother age 30 year suffering Absence Seizures, will keto diet help him too.

  8. My son had his first seizure at 17. He has status epileptis-seizures don’t always stop and once he had to be put in an induced coma. He’s on medication and still struggles. I researched epilepsy and found out about keto. I asked his neurologist, supposedly one of the best in our large city, about keto. She said yes, it’s effective. More than medication. I was dumbfounded. I asked why she hadn’t suggested the keto diet as an option. “I don’t even mention it to my patients. It’s very hard to follow so very few do…” Wow. We are gearing up to give it a go.

  9. My son is on Keppra. I am now putting a booklet together for him with information I have learned about over the years. It is for him now to take this information and utilise it. Thank you for all you do Dr Berg.

  10. I am currently controlling my seizures with the keto diet. I would say I have a hard time e incorporating mct oil in my diet.. and I just ordered a mct powered creamer. Im hoping that will work well for me. But the keto diet alone is helping g tremendously

  11. Thank you Dr. Berg for your videos. My son was diagnosed last month with generalized epilepsy, he had one seizure in October and was described Keppra for treatment. Last week he had another one which was stronger, the doctor increased his medicine intake. My son just turned 15, does a low carb diet with MCT oil helps or he needs to follow the keto diet?

  12. Please explain the effect of the keto eating plan in addition to MCT oil. I have not started
every time I inquire of a medical doctor or
Endocrinologist I am discouraged (state of ketosis could kill you!!!) Help! do you have a
Website that you recommend to eliminate that
concern. Thank you for all topics and research

  13. We cured our daughter's seizures with keto. Be careful with MCT though – it will push you deeper into ketosis and for some people deep ketosis can cause seizures as well. You gotta find your sweet spot. Our daughter didn't actually need very deep ketosis. I'm convinced vaccines containing aluminum messed her brain up, since there are so many kids nowadays with seizures and no genetic syndrome or family history.

  14. so my issue with this is that my son who has seizures must be tube fed. His feeds total 150 grams of carbs a day. It's an organic whole food nutrition (Nourish). We can't just give him food by mouth because he doesn't retain the nutrients. So, we have to do the tube feeding formula. He has drug resistant epilepsy but I can't see how I could even give him 20 carbs a day since his sole nutrition comes from the tube. Would adding the MCT Oil to his diet maybe help even though he won't really be in ketosis?

  15. Honestly if this works im going too flip my damn lid on big pharma giving me drugs with terrible side affects whilst having a shorter life span and going through completely avoidable seizures in the name of cash

  16. This would pend on the type of seizures. Mine are due to sleep deprivation or poor sleep quality. If i go long periods of time with poor sleep it'll build up and ill have one. Nothing will stop it except sleep. My dr does not like my work schedule (4am).

  17. If it were possible to mainline Dr. Berg videos intravenously, I would. I stream his channel on my TV at home for long periods of time. Have to reverse my family's leanings towards conventional medical advice and 'wisdom'. Dr. Berg is a national treasure. Period.

  18. Helo doctor berg I'm a girl who just turned 18
I went and got checked by a doctor and I have very simple cysts.
And my diabetes is a little low 67. Blood tests and hormones are correct.
My vitamins and my health are very healthy, now the doctor tells me not to follow keto and take sugar pill (insulin) to regulate my menstrual cycle since it is not regulated and prescribed some herbs and not to follow the keto diet because I am thin and it is impossible to have fat around my organs, what What do you think I should do?
