Japan needs to realise that US bullies country's to made it illegal.. They did that with Mexico and the corrupt government made it illegal.. But Japan was BUILLED by USA to make it illegal during World War 2… yet during that war USA made their own people grow Mary Jane to help make extra money… and now.. A lot of states in the USA is legal… Sad that people don't know their past… Japan used to give there Shrines Marijuana… I feel it will be legal in Japan with the younger Generation.. The old ones are closed minded… Amsterdamn Legal, Canada legal, USA legal… Soon Mexico it will be legal… Japan will follow once more countries are legal…
Japan may follow the rest of the world in a few decades, but right now it is highly indoctrinated with uncritical thinking and ignorance on the subject.
Japan government is Backdated with all those old people in the parliament. Japanses government will regulate cannabis when Japan's government will realize they are getting held back economically comparing to modern countries like USA and Canada. Sad
Listen, when I watched the news about cannabis on YouTube by Japanese media, there were something weird things that I felt. Almost all of the comments are “Hey everyone, the DRUG effects badly. All the people who take marijuana go mad. So, we shouldn’t make legal them in Japan!!!😡”. 90% of Japanese think them together — marijuana and drugs(stimulants, cocaine and heroin). I was really surprised that here is totally different. I think that Japanese are making the public opinion “Marijuana is illegal, so they are bad” because some people want to defend their vested interests (police, pharmaceutical company, tobacco company and politician). EVERYDAY I see wrong or incorrect news are reported and they trust them. I want you to notice this reality in Japan.
Tax revenue should not be viewed as a positive thing. We can drink a gallon of bleach and die, which is totally legal. But somehow, smoking or taking any other drug is illegal. Shows how much these govnts care about the people.
It’s hard enough to get marijuana legalised around the world. In Japan it’s so taboo, it’s like trying to legalise public masterbation. It’s fun, relieves stress & doesn’t hurt anyone, if you don’t like it, don’t look.. lol
I live in a state where cannabis is legal and have smoked/vaped it nearing a decade and a half.
From what I understand, Japan doesn't have any real established culture surrounding it, and finding people who actually smoke it is slim to none. If that is the case, I don't see even why it would be legalized. Should it in the name of human rights? Probably.
Personally, I find it extremely difficult seeing a situation where this issue would even be brought up in the first place. From what I have heard, the "do not get high" culture in Japan is something taken very seriously as a concept of honor and principle (even though alcohol is a drug as well, go figure). Apparently, even doctors have been facing issues of patients not taking their prescribed pain medications because of this cultural concept.
Japan praised weed used it for everything for centuries, a lot of villages are even named after weed. until the US banned it after Japan lost the war. They will never let us change our law back 🙁
Cannabis does not harm you. None of the compounds in it (THC, CBD, CBN, etc.) kill neurons in your brain, in fact they protect your neurons from damage and deterioration. It eliminates inflammation, heartburn, pain, IBS, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and many other symptoms. If it wasn't for weed I would be back in the hospital for acid burns in my esophagus and taking harmful benzodiazepines for anxiety or drinking alcohol. I implore the entire world to legalize it already.
Alcohol is statistically more harmful than cannabis. Colorado has hit well over the billion-dollar mark annually on sales with nothing but growth projected into the future. Legalize it, tax it, and everyone is happy in Japan!
oh.. and it might not change much but if i knew that marijuana would have been legalized in the future(when i was a kid) i would have never started smoking cigarettes
hello, i live in Québec where it has been legalized and soon after the government got hands on some cash, they restrained the use in parck and recreatives area so now it is legal and way better handled since everyone can smoke in their houses if the house owner agrees. i intend to go to japan one day and i hope it will be legalized because i have seen way worse things happens with alcohol than weed. especially cars accidents alcohol related
In the first 6 months of legalization of cannabis here in Canada, over 150,000 jobs have been created because of legal pot. Cannabis is not only safer than alcohol, but it is also safer than tobacco cigarettes. Cannabis can be used to help people to quit tobacco as well…
Given Japan's widely embraced abuse of alcohol by drinking large amounts and the risks attached to it, having an option such as marijuana can give an option for people to relax without risk of liver damage, death by overconsumption and not having a severe hangover.
Not everybody will like it, but by adding a physically safer option, Japan can reap benefits by reducing impact on work and reducing health care costs.

If they did legalize it, what do you think a bong loading / lighting ceremony would be like ? Cause they don’t go halfway in anything.
Legalize marijuana
Yes
When its legalized I'm living there
Japan ruined my life over marijuana. Took the wind right out of my sails. But it doesn’t storm every day, and Japan will have there day of rain.

Make it available and smoke it. It’s good for you

if they won't legalize it, i hope they decriminalize it. no jail for a plant!
If they don't I cant Visit we need it for medical reasons
I can’t wait to see Japanese government or social media will stop brainwashing ppl, and hopefully it’ll be legalized 🙏🙏
I lived in Japan when magic mushrooms, 2CB, methelyne, 2CT and every other unclassified research chemical were legal. I didn't need weed lol.
I wish I could buy some in japan

Definitely. All over the world, not just in Japan

Does Japan need more tourist for cannabis? Hmm. Could lower suicide rate.
