Marijuana retailer sues Ypsilanti over licensing process, seeks to nullify some competitors’ permits

YPSILANTI, MI – A company that sought one of 10 local marijuana retailer permits is suing Ypsilanti over claims the process city officials used to dole them out violated Michigan law and resulted in “preferential treatment” for competitors.

On Dec. 17, AMA Operations, LLC sued the city, asking the court to affirm the Ypsilanti officials’ actions broke state marijuana regulations, local ordinances and the Michigan Open Meetings Act, according to the complaint.
