Over 4,000 grams of marijuana mean probation for Rochester woman | News

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A woman caught with over 4,000 grams of marijuana is sentenced to probation.

Mary Elizabeth Seitl, 31 of Rochester, was arrested in December 2020 after a traffic stop in the 12600 block of Highway 52 SE in Olmsted County.  The arresting officer says the smell of marijuana was coming from Seitl’s vehicle and court documents say a search found 26 vacuum-sealed bags containing 4,296.19 grams of marijuana, another 12.25 grams of loose marijuana, and 16 containers filled with 337.86 grams of marijuana wax.

Seitl was charged with fifth-degree drug possession and fifth-degree sale of marijuana.  She pleaded guilty Friday to the possession charge and the sale charge was dismissed.

Seitl has been ordered to spend one year on supervised probation and either do 70 hours of community work service or pay a $700 fine.
