Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. If you had Chinese food in 2021, you may have visited one of the Best Chinese Restaurants in New Hampshire, according to WMUR viewer’s top choice for 2021. What restaurants made the top of the list? 1. Wontons in Wakefield. Viewers recommend the crab Rangoon. 2. Sun Shui in Bedford. Viewers said the staff and authentic menu make Sun Shui great. 2. There’s only one good way to visit the highest mountain in the Northeastern United States — taking a SnowCoach from Pinkham Notch to New Hampshire’s Mount Washington. The SnowCoach is a white van that travels on four triangular tracks rather than wheels to make the steep climb up and down the snowy Mt. Washington Auto Road for breathtaking winter-white vistas. Reservations are required for SnowCoach tours and can be made at greatglentrails.com/ booknow. You read more of this story here (subscription or purchase): (The Union Leader)

  3. Another bipartisan attempt in the state to legalize marijuana is underway, according to lawmakers. Proponents say that the state is falling behind Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts, which have already legalized marijuana, and that outcomes for next year’s session appear to be “predetermined.” The bills will likely move from a House committee to the House floor, and with a bipartisan majority, they would go to the Senate, where they will likely get voted down. If the bills reach Governor Chris Sununu’s desk, marijuana supports say they will likely face a veto. State Sen. Bob Giuda, a Republican leading the anti-legalization vote in 2019, said it’s a myth that “everybody wants this,” adding that it’s not good for our kids in the midst of a mental health and “COVId crisis, adding that it also produces “some respiratory problems.” You can read more here: (NHPR)
