SIBLEY—A 26-year-old Mendota Heights, MN, man was cited about 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, near Sibley on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and speeding.
The citing of William Peter Mansur stemmed from the stop of a 2021 Kia Sportage clocked at 100 mph in a 65-mph zone on the Highway 60 expressway near the 120th Street intersection about five miles northeast of Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The odor of marijuana was detected.
When asked if he had marijuana in his vehicle, Mansur said he did not; however, he agreed to a consent search of his vehicle and then admitted he had marijuana and showed a deputy where it was, according to the incident report.
