Patagonia Workwear – Is Hemp Better?

When I first heard Patagonia had a line of workwear, I was skeptical. Patagonia? I kind of thought they were the brand for hikers and hippies. It seemed an …

  1. The Patagonia price is for a niche market who is willing to pay it. I don’t think they’re going for the every day bread and butter construction worker so much as the working class among their current following and whatever share of the Venn diagram they can snatch outward from there.

If it’s more comfortable day to day one might pay the premium if all else is pretty close to equal. If they somehow end up being reviewed as even more durable AND more comfortable they’ll have a market share for sure.

  2. The problem is carhartt quality. It has steadily gone down over the past 10 years. You have to try on everything and depending on which country it was made in, I wear anything from a medium to x large.

  3. Also they have a repair policy so you can send in or if you have a store near you take the item in and they will repair it. It’s an investment in clothing instead of just a one time price.

  4. I recently bought the Nanopuff jacket for 210 euros! I thought it was a premium product because of its high price but on the first week wearing it (walking inside the city and not using it for climbing or hiking ) i started seeing loops of loose stitching…ON THE FIRST WEEK!!!!!! ON A PREMIUM VERY EXPENCIVE PRODUCT!!! I m so mad at my self spending all that money for nothing…I ll never buy anything from Patagonia.

  5. I’ve had two pairs of hemp jeans and I wore them both out because they were so comfortable. I wish more companies made clothes out of hemp. It’s so much softer than cotton and is more durable. I’d love to snag that jacket.

  6. Patagonia used to make excellent gear. Not so much anymore. There politics have gotten out of hand as well. For a company that makes most their gear out of oil they sure like to go after the fossil fuel industry.

  7. I just got a pair of the pants and I absolutely LOVE them! I have not been able to find to a good, comfortable everyday wear/work pant. Other popular brands just don’t have enough room in the thigh and with that said Patagonia nailed the pants. Thanks for the video.

  8. People don’t know about Lost Arrow. Patagonia made much of the clothing worn by men at the tippity tip of the spear while shooting people in the face in our wars over the last two decades.

  9. I agree their price will and is the biggest factor. Even where I work Carhartt isn’t quite as popular as it used to be since their price seems to be getting higher as time goes on. I’m seeing a lot more less expensive brands ex. Dickie’s, Berne, Red Kap, Riggs because people don’t want to spend a fortune on something that’ll get shredded, regardless if it has little handy features.
