SIBLEY—A 53-year-old Worthington, MN, man was cited about 12:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, near Sibley on a charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
The citing of Daniel Order Makuach stemmed from the stop of a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta for speeding on the Highway 60 expressway near the 120th Street intersection about five miles northeast of Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle yield nothing, but a consent search of Makuach, a passenger, located a Newport container with marijuana in it, according to the incident report.
