Medical marijuana patients in Texas will be able to take their THC in a new sweet-infused way. On Monday, March 7, goodblend Texas announced the launch of the first medical marijuana chocolate bar for patients registered in the Texas Compassionate Use Program (CURT), according to a news release
Goodblend Texas is a retail brand of Parallel, one of the nation’s largest privately-held multi-state cannabis operators.

“Goodblend is proud to be the first medical cannabis dispensary in Texas to offer medical marijuana chocolate to patients across the Lone Star State,” said Gene Tallman, President of goodblend Texas in the news release. “Studies suggest that by infusing THC with lipids like those found in chocolate, the beneficial THC experience may be amplified. This is great news for patients who need long-lasting relief from conditions such as PTSD, cancer, or neurological diseases.”
The Heights Dark Chocolate bar is the fifth first-to market product that has launched in Texas in the last year. The chocolate bar provides patients with 5 mg of THC per square. The child-resistant package contains 20 single-serving squares for 100 mg of THC per bar. The bar goes on sale on March 15 exclusively from goodblend Texas.

Last year, Parallel invested $25 million into a state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation, production, and retail facility in San Marcos. The financial commitment expands Parallel’s ability to meet the growing demand for medical cannabis products in Texas, according to the news release.
Through the CURT program, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) operates a secure online registry of qualified physicians who can prescribe low THC to patients with specific medical conditions, according to DPS website.
