Four individuals were arrested earlier this month by Fountain Valley police on suspicion of large-scale distribution of marijuana out of a commercial complex in the 16000 block of Lawson River Avenue.
On April 20, ironically, the day that unofficially celebrates cannabis culture, Fountain Valley police executed search warrants against an individual suspected of the distribution and against other individuals believed to be associated with the facilitation of the transactions.
Authorities say they arrested Michael Ly, 43, of Fountain Valley; Albert Vu, 24, of Westminster; Linda Lisoff, 37, of Irvine; and Duc Nguyen, 22, of Garden Grove, at the commercial complex.
Police say a search of Ly and his vehicle yielded 24 pounds of marijuana and $48,761. A search of his residence and the commercial complex uncovered $1,300, 118 pounds of marijuana and what authorities believe to be approximately 100 ecstasy pills.
Lisoff was found to be in possession of $3,244. A search of Vu’s vehicle revealed $34,600 and Nguyen’s, one pound of marijuana and a digital scale. All four were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit possession and transportation of marijuana for the intent of sale. Jail records indicate Vu, Lisoff and Nguyen were released the day after on April 21 with no currently expected court dates.
Neither jail records or court records indicate if Vu remains in custody or if charges have been formally filed as of Thursday. Police say they believe the total street value of the marijuana was around $72,000.
