ASHTON—A 21-year-old rural Ocheyedan woman was arrested about 11:25 p.m. Sunday, March 27, near Ashton on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest of Evany Kathryn Luna stemmed from the stop of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata for an equipment violation and erratic driving on the Highway 60 expressway near 220th Street about a mile north of Ashton, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Luna had bloodshot, watery eyes; impaired balance and failed field sobriety tests, according to the incident report.

She admitted to marijuana, a THC vape and paraphernalia being in her vehicle, according to the incident report.
