GRAY, La. (BRPROUD) – The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men after marijuana plants were found growing inside a bedroom.
According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation began into suspected drug dealer 53-year-old Douglas Hubbell in early April. Agents believed he was selling heroin and methamphetamine at his residence on Mia Drive. Through the investigation, they obtained arrest warrants for two counts of distribution of heroin and a search warrant for his residence.
The warrants were executed on April 27 when the agents found Hubbell outside his home. 51-year-old Mark Lecompte was also at the residence. He was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine that agents learned had just been purchased from Hubbell.
Agents allegedly found marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, assorted pills, drug equipment, and a gun during a search of the residence. The pills were sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for identification.
The sheriff’s office says that three marijuana plants were found growing inside Hubbell’s bedroom with 20 more growing outside. Both men were arrested and sent to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex.
Hubbell was booked for two counts of distribution of heroin. He was also charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, cultivation of marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Â
Lecompte was booked with possession of methamphetamine but was released on April 28 after posting a $2,500 bail.
