  1. The part when she said that the brain doesnt feel pain. Even when cut. That means she actually cut a brain while someone was awake. Imagine being that person… omg🤢

  2. I can remember each of three distinctly. Saw some tweety birds for a minute, forgot what i had for breakfast, then carried on.

  3. Hey Neil Tyson poem nothing can hide time until what's hidden is revealed experiences have appearances to examine doubt without suffering is a void that needs to be employed the tears are clear the fears are near thanks to you for making your thoughts appear

  4. Thank you for the no wh*tes rule on the show. Thank! You! But can we get some women and trans people on the show? Enough of the men only rules…

  5. The American people learn very less. They are not creatures of the examinations. He holds education in the same regard as someone who is selling vegetables for his money. He has regard only for the personal achievement of people. This is what he calls democracy. We need to learn something from them. .

Max Weber : Science as a Vocation

Neo and Trinity achieved. With them.

  6. I love Gary.. He amazes me, football players are famous for not being very smart in general, but Garys mind is so brilliant, his questions always show how deep he thinks about all things, this host trio is my absolutely favourite..

  7. thought Obamacare allowed for pre-existing conditions?
so saying guys with skirts today- Justifies them machining hundreds of millionS $ salaries… right (dripping with sarcasm)
quit watch football in the 80s when they struck during the season. These folks
were making more money THEN, than the average person made in a lifetime. I also quit all sports at they same time because they Struck DURING the season- proving they could give a ripe about the fans. That being said it is sad they have injuries.

  8. Imagine having CTE as a low level member of society… if Professional Athletes are being treated with that much ignorence, just imagine how others who suffer from brain trauma are treated in other parts of the social ladder. As above, so below. Some days I wake up wondering why I even bother. Why not just let the mighty "spartans" kick me into a pit so i am not wasting their precious time, money and space.

  9. I remember reading about Owen Taylor, the family's struggle for information and the response of college … or rather the lack of response, even complete denial and indifference.
It's progress that things have changed. This is the first I've hear of bunting maybe become past tense.

  10. Mr. Tyson, im a 17yo student in Greece who is inspired from your speech, almost two years now, to become an astrophysicist. Although, im so excited from this branch I don't see any videos referring to all these fascinating theories because i think I'll lose my Passion. You know, this job is very theoritic, so i try focusing on the methodologies and keep my fantasy restricted for this and next year. I don't know if you are you are knowledgeable of the education system in Greece (that we sit on exams to go to the university of our choice) but whats your advise on my decision? Is it actually that fascinating this branch? Will it be difficult for me to go at an astronomy university abroad?

  11. My TBI, 12/18/18 – 1/9/19 caused some noticable changes. My perception of temperature changed(feels a couple degrees cooler now) couple others I'll keep to myself

  12. This was so informative—and also so sad… re: exploitation in pro sports, unreasonable expectations of masculinity and gender, the prevalence of athletics-related injuries, and US health care inadequacies. Thank you to all of those who are trying to fix these issues. And thank you for this important episode.

  13. Space question:
Radiant light like a star is a different projection than say the laser in which we use to measure distance and speed.
Yet people say we can see a star for years after it's died because the radiant light takes years to travel the distance… but we are viewing radiant light at its source. So I don't see how or why the distance could be that relevant.
If you had an insanely fast shutter speed on a camera and turned off a bulb, even if you seen the light turn off at the source and the emitted light gradual fade outwards it only reaches so far in lumosity? Where as a beam of light would continue to travel the full distance.
Hope I get a response been racking my brains on this for ages.

  14. I can not trust Tyson
He has no idea what are the characteristics of a male human being. He's not knowing brings into question everything about his knowledge.
I mean it's not political it's a biological question he can not answere. If you ask him about an animal in the wild he would not be able to answer either.

  15. Yes, and NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. Harry Carson was also an attorney and then started having brain problems putting a sentence together. He was a bellwether for CTE in the NFL. Every player should have these tests paid for by these billionaire NFL owners.

  16. A fantastic full hour of knowledge and fun! Yes, MORE than an hour will be welcomed on extensive topics such as this. Delighted, very delighted and grateful.

  17. Only in America can a black man get paid millions of dollars to play a game and STILL insist that they were oppressed along the way.
This man actually said CTE research isn't getting done because black guys play football.
Hey brotha, what about soccer, hockey and wrestling, which are all predominately white and lead to more injuries annually than American football?

  18. I grew up playing hockey baseball and football and I have had over 10 diagnosed concussions and I can't even think straight most of the time I don't know what's going on and I just wish all of it would end
I allowed my daughter to play hockey and after her first concussion her mom and I told her that if she sustains one more head injury then she's no longer allowed to play which happened about a year later so we pulled her out and now we wish we would have pulled her out after the first one
