Maui police seized firearms, marijuana plants, cockfighting gaffs and more than $1,000 in cash during a search of a Kahului home on Tuesday.

Officers from the Wailuku Patrol and Special Response Team went to the home at around 7:17 a.m. to execute the search warrants. They arrested 34-year-old Chaz Yamashita, who was charged with multiple drug and firearm offenses.

Police recovered one .308 rifle ghost gun with a 13.5-inch barrel, one fully automatic AR-15 ghost gun with a 10.5-inch barrel, one 9 mm semi-automatic ghost gun pistol, four 80 percent pistol lower kits, 1,465 rounds of various caliber ammunition, one .40 caliber pistol upper receiver, 100-round AR-15 magazine, 10 marijuana plants, four grams of marijuana concentrate, 8.2 pounds processed marijuana, other drug paraphernalia, 35 cockfighting gaffs and $1,118 in cash.

Yamashita’s charges include promoting a harmful drug in the first degree, promoting a harmful drug in the fourth degree, use of a firearm in a felony drug offense, commercial promotion of marijuana in the second degree, three counts of firearms with no serial number, four counts of ownership/possession of prohibited weapons, four counts of possession of prohibited weapons, two counts of failure to have a gun permit, three counts of failure to register a firearm, promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, possession of a gambling device, promoting a controlled substance at or near a school and contempt of court, police said.

Yamashita posted $35,100 in bail, according to police.
