PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A southern Ohio woman is facing multiple counts of rape and kidnapping after she was accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy at her apartment.
Kimberly Polachek, 30, of Portsmouth, is being held in jail on a $400,000 bond on two counts of rape and two counts of kidnapping, according to a news release from Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman.
Police in Portsmouth contacted the sheriff’s office on Sunday saying they were notified by a resident about the possible sexual assault. Detectives contacted the boy’s mother, who told them that she thought her son was spending the night with a friend. The woman checked with the friend and learned her son was not there, the sheriff’s office says.
Investigators went to Polachek’s apartment and the boy was found asleep inside, according to the sheriff’s office. Polachek is accused of allowing the boy to smoke marijuana at her apartment and sexually assaulting him while her husband was a work.
Polachek is scheduled to be arraigned today in Portsmouth Municipal Court. Thoroughman said the investigation is ongoing more charges are possible.
Portsmouth is located on the Ohio River about 100 miles southeast of Cincinnati.
