Pot plants confiscated
An Arcadia Township man has lost three marijuana plants to sheriff’s deputies after he filed a complaint about the earlier theft of some other marijuana plants. On Tuesday, deputies were sent to the home of the man where he told them that sometime on Aug. 5 or 6 his garden had been raided by a thief who stole some onions and marijuana plants.Â
Further investigation of the crime scene turned up three plants of the illegal plant which the deputies promptly confiscated, under the protest from the complaint who said he wanted to see a search warrant. The man was told that no search warrant was needed as he had summoned officers to the scene. In response to threats of a court suit, deputies told the man that they would ask the county prosecutor to approve an order to spray the garden with a herbicide. They had been told the plants had grown of its accord and had not been planted.
