Driver charged with DUI of a controlled substance | News, Sports, Jobs



Mackenzie Bower, 21, of 3787 Route 87, Montoursville, was charged with DUI of a controlled substance and possession of a marijuana after state troopers stopped her Mazda 3 on Northway Road in Loyalsock Township about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 because the lights on her car’s license plate were not working, according to an affidavit. The troopers detected marijuana in the car, and Bower admitted she had the controlled substance in the vehicle, police said. She consented to a search, and marijuana was indeed found in the passenger door compartment, police said, A blood test revealed there was marijuana in her system, police said. She is free on $10,000 bail.
