Such an interesting topic cause even without including topical steroids there are so many products being used in the pharmaceutical industry to work on cortisol. Ashwagandha is being used so much consistently in therapeutic doses when it is meant to be used period specific. If you have ever had a long period of flare ups like you did it's almost like muscle memory for your body to respond like that. The onset is easier cause the body has been there before. Or that's just my understanding. Inflammation cortisol immunity so interesting how our body has that autoimmune/inflammatory/stress response and so many people experience it in different ways
Wow msfitandnerdy. Amazing testimony of hard work in research and application. Thank you for all the great information you share on your channel. Very appreciated.
i started going through TSW last year and it was absolutely horrific. unfortunately i didnt get through the first six months as things were so bad for me my body physically 'gave up'. if my mother hadn't intervened i most likely would have died. i lost over 15 kg in just a few weeks (im a very tiny person anyway), refused to eat or drink for days at a time and began fainting. i spent a week in hospital on constant fluids, and got pushed by doctors so much to start using the steroids again. its been a little over six months since i started using them again and (obviously) my skin 'healed', but i have since been diagnosed with PTSD and my anxiety levels are so bad i cant even walk to my mail box alone. even after all of this im still being told by dermatologists that TSW isnt real and how its not possible for the body to become addicted to topical steroids
You were the beacon of my life when i was going through the worst of my TSW. I watched your main video of your TSW struggles daily just to not feel crazy from the gaslighting from doctors and everyone around me telling me different theories of what i was going through. Im 1.5 years in and about 85-90% healed. I lost my job, developed a fear of eating, a fear of water, fear of the sun. CBD made the itching even worse i would get too relaxed that i wouldn’t be able to fight the itch off and then be in excruciating pain from my loss of battle from the itch. I’ve been waiting to hear your take on this, and i’m so happy you’re here, sharing with us your knowledge. You honestly saved my life..TSW almost took mine if you hadn’t been there for me through your platform. From one TSW warrior to another, thank you and I love you ❤️
Aw Marisa! So sorry that you dealt with that discouraging physician! And its hard to see the lingering symptoms still in your skin. But im so glad that you’ve come SO far from your topical steroid withdrawal journey! I definitely think your cortisol could still be settling and it could just be very sensitive after all you went through. To me, it sounds like your remaining symptoms are more hormone related and even the smaller forms of stress (even going to another household like your parent’s house) is enough of a change to throw off your cortisol. You made it through the worst of the healing process so you shouldn’t ever be in that bad place ever again. I feel confident that if you keep doing what you’re doing, you will be back to 100% healed Marisa permanently!
I have been following your fitness videos after going through over a decade of skin and digestion problems… trying blindly to get at the root. With drs just saying my lab work is normal and I just need to eat healthier and sleep better.
In January I got the diagnosis that changed my life!! A systemic nickel allergy that requires a very unintuitive low-nickel diet. Many things I would eat (spinach, nuts, seeds, dark chocolate, tomatoes, chickpeas, beans) along with stainless steel cups, grass, soil, scissors, metal buttons, are super high in nickel and it was wrecking havoc on my body! Nickel is removed from the body via sweat so sweating made it so much worse and would have burns where I would sweat as well. Old houses pipes contain nickel and would cause flair-ups.
Many drs are completely oblivious or straight up deny it is possible to absorb nickel through the diet. I finally feel good enough and confident in my diet to really work on getting fit again 😭😭 I can’t believe I’m on the other side and understand what is going on with my body. I sleep like a rock, my digestion is clock-work, my hair has changed and grown thicker, my skin feels great as long as my diet is on point.
Sorry for the long comment and I know it’s different!! However, I’ve had topical steroids recommended many times and my gut has always pushed me avoid it as much as possible and now I just can’t imagine having gone through my nickel flair-ups and steroid withdrawal!! I’m so sorry for what you went through!! Although it is different, I have used very similar strategies in my recovery process. Anyhow, thanks for sharing this part of your story! 😊
I know biodynamic sounds like it should mean "better than organic" but it's some homeopathic pagan bullshit way of farming. "Peppering" in particular is horrible. I recently learned about it and I'm a little appalled.
I can't believe it's been two years. I remember so clearly you going through this journey. That said, I'm so glad you're two years out and your skin is still doing well!
I also went through TSW almost 10 years ago and it was definitely the darkest period of my life. I remember when I first found your channel, I couldn't believe you went through it too! Nobody even knows what it is… especially doctors 🤦♀
I still had big flares for a few years after being "done" with TSW but they would lessen each time. Now, I get what I call "eczema" a few times a year, especially on my hands and face, when the weather is colder, or when I'm stressed (dry, red, scaly, itchy skin that would sometimes crack and ooze). The only skincare my skin tolerates is Cerave and Lipikar (and I did try everything!).
Would love to see you try Granola Mama skin care, she is an Idaho based mom who males amazing skin oils and serums. 100% natural and organic. Her stuff is amazing! I am just really curious to see of it works for you. So glad your skin is so much better than before. Great video as always. 😁💗
Doctors or at least the pharmacist should of warned you about the withdrawals of daily use of a steroids, that you need to reduce your dosages little by little until you have no more. Quitting Cold turkey from steroids can be a bad trip of depression or worse. Bad Doctors.
Oh my eczema felt a lot like your withdrawal symptoms (but not full body, just some locations). I remember trying not to move because I’d break my skin open if I bent too quickly. I’m so happy you’re through that period
Marisa, I'm so glad for you that your skin is getting better and doesn't require as much care. It's always a pleasure to watch you being so positive. Hope you'll find what are the triggers for your skin and you'll get better ❤
Be honest, what kind of feeling do you get, knowing you're positively influencing people worldwide? I mean, there's probably someone in S. Korea for example, who's watching your videos.
WHAT A RELIEF TO WATCH THIS VIDEO. I took the plunge and stopped using topical steroids in January (along with quitting hormonal birth control pills). Luckily, I didn’t go through any withdrawal like you did but my skin hasn’t quite healed 100%. I felt like my hand was looking itself in the mirror when I seen yours and I get some tiny flare ups at random spots all over my body. I have noticed the same healing power that the sun has and I also like taking beef liver tablets but I am now considering testing histidine. I am pretty much the same about my skincare, although I would say I use a lot less and only really use tallow for moisturiser. My boyfriend says I stink but totally worth it if it stops me from itching during the night. Now, I need to really priorities my stress levels cause that could be a game changer. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! ❤️❤️❤️
Living with Eczema has been one of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with. Luckily I’ve found what triggers my eczema and I’ve tried to not use any prescription cream anymore. I don’t think people know how debilitating eczema is to someone.
HI Marisa I absolutely love your channel it's given me so much information on everything from how to workout to get the best results to reverse dieting!! Also silly question but where do you get your super cute crop tops?? You always look so pretty!
It's crazy to me that doctors don't inform their patients about the risks of using topical steroids. It was prescribed for my 6yr old son and I had no idea that it could cause withdrawal if he stopped using them. I learned that on Tiktok of all places. Luckily we never really used the cream.
You’re joking. I literally just found your TSW skin video. What’re the odds that you just posted this. I am in about month 10 I found a natural health doctor who literally recommended everything you did. It’s nice to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Im on dupixent now it changed my life so much I can do everything every person could possibly do and I'm soo happy
Wow, girl, you look like young Demi Moore, cool 🙂 Congratulations for your healing. I am now 2 months to tsw. Wishing you all the best 🙂
Which facewash do you use?
I got my notepad out
Been using steroids for 25 years, tsw for 20 months. Still going through a rough time. Can't wait to heal!
Have you tried tallow balm? Works wonders for me

Joe Dispenza is amazing! I’ve read his book Becoming Supernatural, and that was a good one, too.
Inspiring video 💜
Maybe I missed this in the video, but do you SPF, especially at the beach? If so, what level? If not, why?
Glad you are doing better! So sorry you had to go through that… 💗
Do you ever find that the cracks in your hands are from gluten contamination?

Hi Marissa, any advice on how to get rid of this F*CKING tan in my arms, neck and face?
Hello, Marisa! I wonder, do you use SPF?
HI Marisa I absolutely love your channel it's given me so much information on everything from how to workout to get the best results to reverse dieting!! Also silly question but where do you get your super cute crop tops?? You always look so pretty!
I been waiting for a update on this I always wondered how your skin was doing now
What do you call a person with cileac disease that eats nothing but bread? A gluten for punishment! 😆
Yeah.
Beware.
There is some kind
of a creature in
your bed.
(Can be dangerous.)
