  1. Thank you for the video. Very helpful. My 16 year old has just been starting to get these muscle contraction type seizures last week. Now she’s presenting with panting, shallow breathing, no wag in her tail and as of this morning the typical heart disease cough. She’s miserable and I’m scared. Ugh

  2. Our 3 year old westie was born was a heart murmur and he has had a few fainting episodes in the past. Very spread out. But in the last 2 weeks he has had 3 episodes where he has the jerking twitching of his legs and arms, urinating myself, panting after. He gets weak, falls over, and violently "runs in place" while on his side. He had one of them last night after climbing the stairs, then another this morning after coming in from going potty outside, both in less than 24 hours. I think my dog has both issues. The heart murmur is causing rare events of syncope (fainting) but now he has seizures on top of that. He isnt on any medication and has a vet appt. this week. We sure hope we can get him feeling better! Scared out of my mind!

  3. What about flea medications like Comfortis? It's written on the label that a side effect of this can cause seizures. Also what about the drug furosemide (water pill) which is given to dogs with heart failure. I understand that this drug can lower the potassium levels in dogs with heart failure, thus upsetting their electrolyte balance, and bringing on seizures.

  4. Flea treatment causes seizures in my dog. Vets said it wasn't the treatment as they didn't come on for few days afterwards but I noticed a pattern and he now isn't flea treated and has far less seizures that he used to. Has gone from once a month to 6monthly/yearly
