Hugs for you and everyone here if theyāre wanted. Chronic illness has affected my life since I was born. From my momās debilitating autoimmune diseases to now my own hypothyroidism. People mean well when they offer up suggestions, but if they havenāt experienced it, they just donāt get it. Iām thankful for this community that gets it, but Iām sad that so many of us do. Thank you for this video, itās immensely helpful! ā¤ļø
I am so excited to try those bio freeze patches I love the gel but hate the mess. I have a herniated disc in my lower back and it has been killing me lately. For lower back pain I love hanging from my pull up bar lol. Derrick has the neck nerve pain too Rach and he loves that little shepherds hook. It goes everywhere with him lol.
Thank you for touching on these kinds of subjects. Although I donāt have PCOS I have suffered with chronic migraine since I was in middle school and Iām almost in my 30ās. Migraine isnāt always something you can see and itās so hard to explain to people how truly awful you feel when you ālook fineā it isnāt until Iām vomiting that they realize oh yup sheās sick. Iāve missed so many important events and have to explain constantly that even though I was ok 10 minutes ago, I suddenly feel one coming and shit is about to hit the fan and I need to get home immediately to sleep and take meds. I have cried and told myself āwhy does this happen to me. I just want to feel okā so many times!
The advice to just take a Tylenol or a magnesium supplement drives me crazy lol like yes I have tried it all! I finally have them under control for the most part but thereās triggers I canāt avoid so they still happen. Rant over! Basically THANK YOU for being vulnerable and making me feel seen & heard. I really love your channel & happy Kackie brought me to you š
I have chronic back/neck/shoulder pain and scoliosis. I have TMJ, and got a night guard made but I hate using it. My back pain is so insane that I canāt bartend regularly anymore, which was literally my source of income for years. I used to walk home crying from the pain, not realizing I was in that much pain to begin with. I used to get so depressed and would cry for hours thinking that I would live with debilitating pain for the rest of my life, that I shouldnāt pursue pregnancy, that Iāll die early, etc. And Iām only in my mid-20s š
I have the Chirp back wheel set and itās amazing. I love it more than my foam roller. Itās helped my posture too! I lay on an acupressure mat pretty often too. I sleep with a special pillow for my neck and shoulder pain, and that has helped a lot. Stretching as often as I can has helped me so much. I want the Theragun so badly!
I also bruise easily so I constantly look like I got in a fist fight with someone š
I stopped drinking alcohol back in January, and cut out recreational drugs (aside from Mary Jane) and thatās helped my TMJ, headaches, and stomachaches. I donāt use any tobacco or nicotine products either. But I still smoke the Jazz Cabbage before bed for muscle relaxation and to be able to sleep. But hopefully I can quit that too!
I am saddened to hear about your health and pain struggles, but I am so happy that you shared your product recommendations and tips with us. Our physical health and pain does not define us, and we all deserve a happy life to live!! Taking time to learn ands manage my pain and its triggers has improved my day-to-day immensely. I feel like Iāve taken back control of my life. Now I look forward to each day, and growing older with my partner and cats.
Iām struggling to find the right words because I donāt know how to properly convey how helpful this video was. Iāve been struggling more than usual with my chronic illnesses and chronic pain. Iāve also been struggling with feeling alone and people just not understanding what Iām going through.
This video helped me feel less alone for a little bit so thank you! While I hate hearing that others are suffering, itās really helpful to know that Iām not the only one dealing with these difficult things šš
This is amazing. Honestly just starting the video has made me super emotional, I'm definitely still going through my grief stage stages.. I will be back to watch and rewatch this later but I just wanted to let you know that this was really kind of you to make! Much love š»š»
Great video, thank you, Rachel! I'm newly subscribed (my first video was your excellent Trixie x Juno review (love those gals!)) & I sympathise with your health issues. I've had ME/CFS for ~30 years, which has drastically restricted my life (I was 'locked down' decades before it was popular). I appreciate your dismissal of "woowoo": there sure is a lot of it around & a lot of (well-meaning?) people pushing it. Pain is not my worst symptom (they'd be disabling fatigue; un-refreshing sleep & an insane sleep/wake cycle), but I have my share of it (& sometimes, someone else's). Your suggestions are excellent. I'd only add: acupressure/acupuncture (if you respond to it (sadly, I do not)) & LightStim for Pain (an infrared & red/orange LED device, designed to boost circulation & thereby bring more anti-inflammatory/'healing' goodies than would otherwise arrive). It's definitely not cheap, but, I think, worth every penny. I have idiopathic androgenisation (kinda like PCOS, minus the cysts) & resultant breakouts. I cannot recommend Paula's Choice Skincare highly enough: it truly saved my skin. As it's on the expensive side, I also recommend their beautypedia(dot)com, which has independent reviews of beauty products. On a lighter note, I have a couple of questions: Where(ish) are you originally from (I'm intrigued by your accent)? & What is the gorgeous eyeshadow you're wearing? Best wishes from Australia š
