  1. These meds have SO many horrible side effects hard to even think they can do more good than harm. My doctor prescribed this for me and not sure I can. I feel like crap though so there's that too.

  2. This medication has literaly saved my life!! I have bipolar type two and all my life I had one or two weeks where I felt life is worth living and I was happy. Just days after I would go to very dark places, not being able to get out of bed. With this medicine I am not going to those places, my mood is stable.

  3. I had a hypomanic episode the first week, is that normal? I'm bipolar 1 and then a very runny nose and eyes, for 2weeks after starting, on fourth week now and my nose has finally dried up, but now it nausea, I don't want to stop, I developed epilepsy a few years ago and I'd no idea just how much it impacted me until I started the lamotrigine, my big question is how safe is it with Depekote. I just read leaflet and I'm a bit panicky, I'm on depakote for bipolar 1.

  4. My neurologist gave me this when i told him i had a tremor that come and go. He said it was anxiety.
Ever since i left his office that tremor has stopped from coming and going. I only took 1 pill. Does this pill stop minor tremors?

  5. The dosage depands on a tolerance of the organism, not specified maximum dose. Toxic doses are much higher. I took 300 mg x 2 (600mg / a day) and I felt great, because on that dose it worked on my "EPI". If you take drugs long enough, you can find that with time the efficiency of a substance decreases. Currently I have changed the form of lamotrigine – Lamitrin S (Glaxo) in tablets that are for chewing… The effective dose is on 200 mg x2 (400 mg a day) and it`s fine. The absorbtion is better when the pill is dissolved in mouth than in the stomach. I recommend to better know yourself… Doctor can not predict what best dose you can take, in reality they read drug leaflet, you know yourself the best. Consult with your doctor if you feel better on bigger/smaller dose. I don`t recommend Lacosamide the drug evokes seizures and narrowing field of vision (problems with sight). If you start taking it "you are fucked" it`s very agressive drug and it`s very hard to dechallenge it. Be aware of that I tried it. Best regards

  6. Every doctor should run their patient bloodwork before prescribing this medication. This particular medication good cause Stevens Johnson syndrome, which it’s a life and death situation. Friends please be very cautious 💯

  7. I take it for 1,5 months now and I don't feel any difference, also no side effects. My main problem is that I have big problems concentrating, self organization and impulsiveness… I always had these problems. But I seeked help at just now at age 30 bc I am studying medicine in 4th year and it's getting so hard now, that I need to be able to focus… but the medication doesn't do anything for me. Now my dr added aripiprazole. But all I have is side effects and no benefits. I am dizzy, tired and have headaches… I don't know what to do…why doesn't the medication work on me???

  8. Should I avoid Folic Acid vitamins while taking Lamotrigine ? And what about eating foods with high Folic Acid, is it safe or contradict with Lamotrigine?

  9. I started on lamictal back in december and it didn't help one bit. I have been dealing with extreme derealization/dissociation. Fast forward to early this month, my docotor put me back on lamictal 25 mg and another ssri and week later i began feeling so much better for two whole weeks I felt like my old self again, I felt great. I started at 50 mg still feeling great and 4 days later began to dissociate. My doctor wanted me to continue to stay on 50 mg and go up to 100 mg and I would feel fine. I told her how would I feel fine if upping my dose to 50 mg made me feel worse four days later?? Anyway, now back on 25 mg for the past two days and I feel worse than ever, so the doctor told me to go back on 50mg for 1 week and then up it to 100 mg. Can upping your dose after you start feeling better take a nose dive and then begin working again??

  10. im on 200mgs 3 times a day for depression. I've been on it for 27yrs and I only take it because, when I don't take it I feel foggy minded I get very confused and I stumble. I feel very stupid and slow. I have children and I feel as I cant just stop with the highest dose. Of 200mgs 3times a day. I couldn't function mentally correctly. I want this medication out of me. How long would it take to come off this medication after takeing it for 27yrs for "depression"?? Im done!! Im on 200mg 3times a day. The highest dose! Pleas help.

  11. I’m taking this for anxiety and depression. I forgot to take it today and was wondering why I didn’t have any motivation to do anything. Then I remembered I didn’t take my meds lol

  12. Is there anybody taking this drug and it keeps them awake at night I'm on 50mg lamotrigine and 45mg Mirtazapine I take the Lamotrigine for epilepsy I only started it 3 weeks ago for the past 5 nights I've had A total of 10 hours sleep before that I was on Keppra where I slept 9hrs A night got took of Keppra had more seizures in 5 weeks than I had all last year and with Lamotrigine I look if I'm on drugs my pupils are dilated and I feel as if I'm staring all the time

  13. I've been taking for about 3 years, 200mg in the morning and at night. My new shrink had me cut down the dose in half to see how I do. (He's been adjusting prescriptions from the previous shrink.) Unfortunately, it sent me into a tailspin of hateful thoughts and deep sadness. I was like "No. This isn't me anymore." I gave it a week and went back to the regular dose. I was normal again in a couple of days. So it works for me. I was taking it with 400mg Seroquel which we switched to 5mg Olanzapine and an unexpected brain fog went away.

  14. I have been on lamictal since I was 19. I'm now 35. It is the only medicine I take and I will take my pills BID until my last day. It literally changed my life as someone who is bipolar. It allowed me to finish my undergraduate work and master level work while holding down good jobs. It allows me to function and be a good husband, friend, and family member. I was off of it once for three weeks due to a move to a foreign country and difficulty getting it shipped to me. Those three weeks were miserable. I rapid cycled a lot, couldn't sleep, ate WAY too much (nearly 8,000 calories a day!) and then would cry incessantly because I had gained two pounds. It was ridiculous. I've lived all over the world, visited dozens of countries, and still hold down an excellent career. I am a totally different person with Lamictal in a good way. It doesn't cause me to be disaffected or off, it just removed the instability of my naturally occurring moods and helps me to function to the best of my ability.

  15. Hi, research does not show that it is save during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It increases for instance the risk to have an isolated cleft palate or cleft lip deformity. So there are not only some exceptions. Women should always talk to the doctor first about planning a baby or planing to breastfeed before doing it.

  16. I got rashes from lamotrigine but stop taking it like 3 weeks already and still I continue having them and have cut foods for weeks to see if its the food and it's not food rashes, nor the laundry detergent nor body wash nor soap, can being around it cause you to still get the rashes it's in my room would it be that breathing?
