PPD: Oven fire leads to marijuana bust | News

An oven fire led to a major marijuana bust, Porterville Police stated.

Adrian Lopez, 23 of Porterville, was arrested.

On Friday at aboutย 1:20 p.m. the Porterville Fire Department responded to a residence located in the 400 block of North Second Street regarding a possible structure fire. Upon arrival,ย the fire was determined to be anย oven fire which was extinguished.ย 

While fire personnel were onย scene, they noticed a large amount of processed marijuana, therefore Porterville Policeย detectivesย wereย called out to assume control of theย investigation.ย Contacted at the residence were Lopez, a ย 22 year old female, and their two small children,ย allย who resided at the residence.ย 

ย A search warrant was requestedย by detectivesย and granted by a Superior Court Judgeย for the residence. During theย service of the warrant, detectives located and seized more than 400 pounds of processed marijuana, several boxes of concentrated cannabis oil, indiciaย of marijuana sales, andย a recent marijuana grow and processing operation.ย 

ย Lopez was taken into custody for Cultivation ofย Marijuana,ย Possession of Marijuanaย for Sale,ย Maintaining aย Drugย House, and Child Endangerment.ย He wasย booked at the South County Detention Facility.ย
