I have been here a long time and have only heard once of an alligator being in someone’s yard. There is an alligator hotline: 866-392-4286. I have seen only 2 since moving here. Don’t take your dogs near the ponds. Alligators move from pond to pond at night especially during mating season. You will not know they are there until they lunge out at your dog. Alligators are no worry if you move here.

Welp, we’ve taken your closing line to heart. My husband and I (fellow Hoosiers) just spent 2 days in The Villages and purchased our retirement home. Looking forward to becoming full-time Villagers in mid-May. Based on this episode, we’ll be just in time for love-bug season. Yay.
