The only people who will ever watch, much less attend a grappling competition are people who also train a grappling art. The Olympic committee has been nurturing the art of judo to make it more “ palatable” for 60yrs and have done nothing but turn a beautiful grappling art into the sport of big throws. We don’t need jiu jitsu to be enjoyable to watch we need it to be an effective martial art. Then we can hold competitions for people who want to test their abilities on other competitors. Long live the submission only no time limit format!!!!!
I couldn’t agree More about scoring takedowns… I think they need to change the rules about scoring passing. 3/4 mount is mount. D.C. talked about how he prefers 3/4 over full mount for ground and pound. We really should stop awarding people for ending up in poor position. Like turtle etc.
