Marijuana is not alcohol. The preponderance of the research shows marijuana consumption is not a significant cause of auto accidents. — In 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), found that while drunken driving dramatically increased the risk of getting into an accident, there was no evidence that using marijuana heightened that risk.
All police K-9's will always detect the presence of Cannabis. Will this prove to be probable cause? Driving while using Cannabis is the same as drinking and driving in the eyes of authorities, even driving with a open Cannabis container is deemed illegal. Of course the police know people are constantly crossing state lines, and their trying to warn people. There is mixed information regarding recreational Cannabis use, like seeing on the local news that smoking Cannabis is allowed anywhere smoking a cigarette is allowed. Someone should put out a loud & clear message about what's expected from recreational Cannabis users in detail. Please support Rhode Islands medicinal cannabis program by keeping patients over profits.
Like opening dispensaries will change the amount of ppl driving around high ..like weed wasn't a super easy drug to get before this I live a rockstone throw away from recreational massachusetts stores and know about 8 individuals who sell it from home so good work troopers lmao
The amount of people smoking marijuana and driving at the same time is unbelievable. Wake up on a Tuesday and driving to work at 8am and the highway smells like freshly smoked pot. I’ve seen people straight up smoking bowls in their car in the morning commute traffic. In the city all day throughout the day you can smell marijuana freshly smoked. Combined with the amount of nips I see thrown everywhere. Mostly fireball.
