Sen. Blumenthal says parents need to keep cannabis away from kids

It’s been about one week since recreational marijuana sales began in Connecticut. As purchases are made Sen. Richard Blumenthal has a warning for parents: keep marijuana away from your kids.

“Cannabis poisoning of children is exploding,” said Blumenthal. “Connecticut has requirements about safe packaging, but there is no substitute for parent’s putting the cannabis in secure locations.”

He recommends parents not eat cannabis gummies, candies or cookies around kids.

According to Be In The Know CT, the state’s cannabis information site, using marijuana under the age of 25 can cause issues with memory and learning.
