Bleeding out a clutch master ( 87 Honda VT1100)

Sorry about the vid being poor – but hopefully it gives someone the right idea about how to flush their clutch.

  1. Hey Dawino – I did a bleed on my 1995 VT1100C and found a big air pocket right at the banjo bolt at the top of the line. Got that sorted out and have pressure in the line now, but when the bike is running (not moving) and in neutral, I stall out going into first with the lever pulled in. Also, when the bike is not running and I squeeze the lever, I hear a fluid sucking sound down in the lower part of the engine. Any ideas? The bike is newly acquired and I don't think fluid had been changed in a long time.

  2. Would this apply to the 1992 Shadow as well?  Wouldn't happen to have a video on changing the friction plates for the 1992 model would ya?  I've searched hi and low on the site and can only find a few for years after mine.

  3. no thats cool its just this is the first time i,ve found some one working on a bike just like mine on here I,ve owned mine for 5 years now great bike 29K when I got it I,m putting a new clutch master cylinder on it right now just put a new brake master cylinder on it because I took the pull backs off and stuck a pair of Z bars on it funny part is Harley says there parts won,t fit but they do and they work great it probably breaks there heart knowing I put there parts on my Honda….

  4. the Usual suspects – heavier clutch (barnett kevlar), clutch springs (vesrah heavy duty or barnett heavy duty) replace the fuel pump, change all the fluids, FLUSH the rear end and change the gear lube. Set of Accel 140403's and a weekend of taking apart every wire connector and hitting em with some CRC electronics parts cleaner before putting em back together. regular Delo 400 15W40 oil changed every 1000 miles and they'll hit 150,000 miles between top ends

  5. What a great example you are , kids are on this site to. I only wish I was in Alaska you low life piece of garbage. And I wouldnt need a gun , I promise you that. Did you not get enough attention as a child? No, I know , you've gotten your loudmouth ass kicked up ther in gun land , thats it . Him all angry inside. I wouldnt call myself a republican , more of a Tea party , libertarian type , anything but democrat . Demoncrats/libtards are destroying the moral foundation of this country. Suk aturd

  6. Why because I was working and had to CLEP a few credits here and there?…Big effing deal.. Least I paid for my own.. And ummm.. The days of me being the good little nerd ended when I was forced to retire in 2000.. I dont have to hold my tongue anymore… If I choose to pick on liberal scumbags such as yourself, That's Probably due to the fact that I pay more in taxes than the average family makes. You vote for government freebies.. I vote for government getting the F_(k out of my wallet

  7. Ya…because all successful computational mathematicians talk shit about shooting and pissing on Democrats on youtube videos?…. I rest my case you dirty fuck…Your PhD isn't worth the out-house paper it's printed on, Jethro

  8. Yup… Doctorate of Mathematical and Computational Sciences as well as a PhD in Physical Electronics… I must be a failure hell it took me my whole 22 year career to get those… You know us Alabama boys take forever to learn anything….
Truth be told though – I'd prefer not to have a wife… Motorcycles are a he11 of a lot less maintenance and you know since I'm from Alabama I'm lazy too…

  9. Probably one of the better 45 degree twins — Only thing I like to do to em for me personally is an 8 core radiator – eliminates the need for the fan

  10. A friend was looking for a bike so I went with him to look at it and ended out being the one to bring it out of storage. There's a couple more floating around under 1500 on craigslist orlando and South Florida. About the same amount of work to put em on the road –
