Hey Chef AJ, congrats on the 3 yr anniversary of going live…valuable service to all of us….Maybe now that I am retired I will actually get to see some of them LIVE
I work in the supplements department of a natural grocery store. When people look at supplements and tell me they cannot afford things, I walk them to the bulk spice aisle and tell them about Caraway, Fennel and Celery Seed which are cheap and so easy to use.
I am enjoying this series of spice talks. Thank you.
I really LOVE Dr Pai's shows π that allspice was mistaken for black pepper is so interesting, that's probably why we call it "kryddpeppar" in Swedish, which literally translates to 'spice-pepper' :)! Cardamom is probably my favourite spice (if I had to pick one, which I really don't want to because I love them all xD), a bit ashamed though that I've never used whole xD have to try that π how lovely that it's called the queen of spices π I also feel like Dr Pai, that the historical stuff is so fascinating, so I'm really happy that he's including that π thank you so much <3
I love spices so you can imagine how much I loved listening to Dr Pai talk about them. I was introduced to a variety of spices when I lived in a South Asian com. The new spice for me is KALONJI, black cumin seed. I just need a pepper mill to grind it over my food. I'm Jamaican, we love spice, but we don't use a wide variety.
Thank you! β€ I learned a lot! π
