  1. I have been paralyzed for 34 years, this year. I suffer from incredible pain, depression from always being in pain and lack of sleep from being in pain. I wish I could get edibles.

North Carolina has had this issue "on the table" for almost two decades. It's time this State's politicians start listening to the professionals. I cannot use it during the day, but it does help me to sleep when I have used it in the past for that reason. It also, without a doubt, helps with pain. This is not "uh, I think it's helping". No, this is more like "yes, without a doubt it is helping". That is exactly why I sleep better. Less pain… And more sleep is a good thing. It helps the groggy grumpiness that lack of sleep causes.

Spinal cord injuries are all different. Some lucky SCI patients have little to no pain. But there is a large part of spinal cord patients that have a condition called spinal disreflexia. It causes pain like burning skin, electric shocks to be zapping you up and down your legs. These are two of many pain symptoms that SCI patients like me have to deal with daily.

As a patient like me who deals with this particular pain daily, I discuss it with other SCI patients who have this kind of pain. They all use it. They all get relief from it. Or they would not use it. I get it from them. They know exactly what I'm talking about. It's a mystery where it comes from. (the pain) It could be spicy food, which I do not eat anymore. It could be from a colostomy operation that I got in the VA hospital. During the operation, I was infected with C. Diff… According to the doctors, it ate the lining of my intestines and comes back when something triggers it. No one knows what or how or why or when.

This medical plant needs to be made legal and available to people that need it. The quality of life is degraded to the point where I sometimes pray for The Good Lord to bring me home. Please, any politicians from North Carolina, have pity on patients like me that would benefit from its medicinal properties.

I could go on, but there is no sense. Please have pity on patients like me and other patients with Cancer, MS, ALS, etc.
