I have a 7 week old chiuhaha puppy 2 pounds doing something similar it occasionally gags like its got something stuck up in her throat but she is showing absolutely zero signs of any issues expect for that and like hiccups or chest spasaming on occasion but she has energy like nobodys buisness and doesnt act like a sick dog my only problem is shes my first dog and the only thing i can compare her behavior to is my moms dog who is a solid 90 pounds heavier than my little puppy lmao not a good comparison
My holistic vet also gave me marshmallow root after my dog refused to even look at hydrocodone. Sometimes works, sometimes doesnt, even with honey. Will try to add in the slippery elm next
Thank you so much for these videos. I have a Chihuahua that I rescued like five and a half years ago, she has a cough that she's had since the day I rescued her but it's become more noticeable and more frequent it's so I took her to the vet and she said that it's a mixture of upper respiratory infection, asthma and the fact that she's heavy set. Vet cintas home with a steroid pill like prednisone and I gave it to her it seemed to help the first two days and then after that like I didn't notice a difference or anyting. And I couldn't afford almost $200 a month for the refills especially when it didn't seem to be helping. I'm just wondering if you maybe have any suggestions or it is as far as what I can do or give her that might help open her airways to help minimize her coughing? Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions as far as like a do or give her to help, I want a very fixed income I'm lucky if I have maybe $10 left over each month if you have any cost-efficient ideas to offer would be greatly appreciated thank you very much
But is there something we can do to help dogs with tracheal issues. I'm a dog walker & one of my clients is a young 8 lb Aussie doodle who gasps for air sometimes when I give him a treat (peas size piece of single ingredient plain jerky). Is there some way to strengthen the trachea?
My dog has this issue. We feed her twice a day and it's special prescription diet wet food. Should we just use half a capsule of Slippery Elm for each feeding?
Dr. My Shepard did have a hair ball, a huge hairball. Not knowing if a dog got hairballs, that is still what I suspected it was. He seemed to be breathing funny when laying down. So I was getting worried made since to me a hairball. He had allergies to kibble dog food and was licking constantly. I began giving him big 3 tablespoons of coconut oil unrefined. A week passed and it happened He started gaging and just stood real stiff and here it came a huge hairball. Know wonder he was having problems breathing. By the size of it I would say he's lucky to be alive. Gosh that thing had to hurt. I put him on can Purinas' new instincts line . His allergies cleared up finally and the sore he liked went completely away. Nothing seemed to take that sore away not even medication from the Vet. Also I tryed one more new Purina no grain and pro plan he liked that and no allergies to it. I give small amounts mostly meats, yogurt, cottage cheese, green beans , pineapple and pumpkin topped always with some coconut oil. So a dog can I would say if they have allergies and are licking is how they are most likely toget one but not common. You are such a good man I watch you alot. God bless! β€οΈπΊπΈππππΊπΈβ€οΈ
My dog does the same thing… but the onset is usually in the spring which makes me suspect allergies (she usually gets hotspots in warm weather, but quercetin is working beautifully). She is a 13 year old 12 lb short-haired dog.
Doc, you're a saint. We adopted a super cute lab mix from the kill shelter recently. Unfortunately, we brought her home to our other two dogs and almost immediately we notice everyone starting coughing with kennel cough. Both our existing dogs picked up the bug. We tried the recipe from your good viewer but also added some colloidal silver. Three days later, all the pups were cured. No coughs or hacking. Thank you so much for all the amazing advice you share with everyone. God bless.
My dog has been coughing for a while. The vet confirmed it is not kennel cough. He has been taking cortisone for a while but the cough is getting worse. Can you help, dr Jones
