Cannabis 100% legal in Massachusetts USA. No issues, canβt smoke in public which makes sense. People will still find cannabis. I say keep it the way it is in Thailand. Tighten up on where itβs used
Perhaps the narrater should accept Thai culture a little more, there is a slight wiff of hypocrisy as you frequently comment on some of the things you don't like about Thailand and how things should be run. I'm assuming you've singled out the British because you carry some chip about us. From what I've seen, many people act inappropriately in Thailand, no matter where they are from. In addition, we all know they types who frequent Pattaya and such like.
The safest prediction is to predict that what's been happening for the past 30 years will likely keep happening lol. The key as a farang is to remember that you are not Thai and this is none of your business. Drink and enjoy that big bottle of Chang and that barely-legal skinny thing bouncing on your knee. And when she says "you tink too mut, tee-luk!" She's right!
You can't blame tourists for getting upset at a bar or a taxi. Bars will bring tourists a bucket of beers without them ordering them and then charging inflated prices for something they never ordered. The taxi drivers charge tourists triple the fees as a thai national, so yes, tourists have a right to fight unethical and inflated fees.
Where bar's lost money due to COVID there is a lot more bill padding going on and that's what is leading to the increase in bar trouble, don't be to quick to blame the tourist, Thai's have to learn to STOP IT
Pheu Thai and Future Forward are both financed and supported by America through their USAid and CIA/NED arms. The same entities who are responsible for the unrest and coup in Myanmar, Pakistan, Laos and Cambodia. The US wants to open bases here in Thailand to block China.
The worst thing that could happen to Thailand politically and probably economically is that the Pheu Thai party wins the election and controls parliament and Thaksin returned to Thailand. I am expecting protests and as a result instability, politically in Thailand.
The normal reaction by the military to an unfavourable election result is to put undercover military personnel on the streets to encourage civil disobedience, thereby giving the military an excuse to stage a coup. This happened extensively in 2014 and resulted in some deaths and many injuries.

The return of the 'quality tourists' has meant that things have gone to crap.

Gogo bars are now padding bills . My bill was padded last week, I paid it and will not return to that bar and now pay as I drink.
