I was prescribe gabapentin for sciatica. It decreased the pain but I started having depressed moods, panic attacks, dizziness and headaches. The one thing I did was looked up for any drug interaction because I also take Requip for restless syndrome. Those two drugs can’t be taken together or with alcohol or cannabis
I know this was 3 years ago but i was just prescribed Gabapentin for sciatica pain and i think its a herniated disc and ive been in excruciating pain suddenly. I take Morphine and Gabapentin and can solidly confirm that i am still breathing. No medication is good for you neither is living with severe chronic pain for most it is not a choice nor all these meds but without them pain would be unmanageable.
For me it's suboxone, gabapentin and alcohol daily. Sometimes I'll smoke a little bud but I'm not the massive stoner I was from 14-20. I hate being on these fuckin pills and booze, Suboxone withdrawal is worse than heroin withdrawal for me and gabapentin withdrawal makes me go insane like I was tweaking.
I would take 12.000 milligrams of gabapentin a day. I do this cause it's the only meds that help but my immune system is so strong I get to take more to feel it.
These people are not joking, I have been stuck on this hell drug for 10 years and I was wondering why I was having problems getting my breath, I though it was asthma, not so. The drug is insidious and sneaky. You wake up gasping for air and do not know why. Oh and it gets better, wake up with horrible dry mouth, and then dental problems. Then you say I hate this drug, you try to get off it, and when you do, feeling of life is not worth living, I am better off dead, and when will the world end, oh but then, you remember that you did not take this drug, and in 30 minutes the feelings go away. So! Horrible side effects if you take it, and horrible side effects if you do not take it. You will no craving for it, you will even forget to take it. Still more good news (sarcasm), now they have discovered it can cause full blown Rhabdomyolysis, a disease that causes your muscles to waste away, then kidney failure and death. It is rare, BUT, I have notice over the last ten years a slow insidious muscle wasting, I used to have pretty good muscles. Now I notices they are thin, still no kidney problems, but it seems it can cause slow muscles wasting away, and now I have noticed that my joints are wasting away. There are no family history of these problems, we are strong people until our 80s. Still more! Forget trying to find you car keys, or a tool you set down, short term memory lose is horrible. I keep praying for a class action lawsuit for this demon drug. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

My mother has taken this drug for about 7 years after for her rare autoimmune condition which causes severe neuropathy in her back and legs. Initially she was fine but over the years she has developed severe sleepiness at random times in the day a lot of confusion and forgetfullnes. On the rare occasion she doesnt take it for a few days she seems much sharper and much more like herself also it has now started causing her depression and slurred speech. She is 70 years old and i am very worried not 1 Dr explained about these side effects or offered any alternative medication in fact all the Neurologists we spoke said this was the newest best and first line drug for her condition. It seems this thing has become a necessary evil in her life.

If combining opioids and gabapentin or pregabalin get an SpO2 monitor with an alarm function to vibrate if oxygen gets too low. My cousin's spO2 deeps to 80% at night.
