  1. I try to get my 11 year old to bed earlier. But he refuses. I feel helpless. He is dealing with neurodiversity and it is so hard to teach him about health. He doesn't want to hear it. He doesn't want to watch a movie on the topics. He also refuses to take his supplements at night at times and now it is almost 11pm,we got into a huge fight and of course that doesn't help him sleeping either. šŸ˜¢ what to do with a very strong-willed child that just doesn't go to bed if he doesn't feel he's tired. I can see it though very clearly.

  2. I recommend looking up a childrenā€™s book called ā€œStella Noctella: The night time princessā€. It shows the trauma caused to some children when parents enforce strict early bedtimes. I think it would be educational for some parents to read as well, since thereā€™s a terrible misunderstanding by some parents.
ā€œGoodā€ sleep can occur at any time of the day/night. Kids (or adults for that matter) could get a better sleep if they are allowed to go to bed when tired and wake up when theyā€™re finished sleeping. Thereā€™s no point forcing a kid to bed at 8-9pm if theyā€™re going to lie there staring at the ceiling for hours until their bodyā€™s natural sleep time, and then be woken up early before theyā€™ve had enough sleep. This is a sure way to become sleep deprived.

  3. Im guess your not a fan of self directed learning and parenting style of Unschooling. We even Worldschooled for 2 years traveling to 8 counties, I loved it so much. If I were being honest, Iā€™m not so sure she loved it as much as me with moving around so much. Youā€™re spot on about everything so Iā€™m taking all this to heart and rethinking some things.
