  1. I don’t think you addressed prophylactics enough, especially in light of Traditional Chinese Medicine. If you know what qi your dog is, you can address the potential health issues that they’re more likely to develop prophylactically. I have three miniature dachshunds that are three years old. Their breed is prone to IVDD and pancreatitis. One has a Fire qi, one has a Water qi, and one has a Wood qi. The dog with a Wood qi started out with digestive problems from the start, so we have been addressing that all along. The Fire one also developed digestive problems when she was two years old, but her qi has the potential to develop heart issues also, so we address that, but she also has food allergies, and we are addressing that. The third has a Water qi, so has the potential to develop kidney issues, and joint issues, so we address that. On top of that, all three have been spayed. I hunted all over to try to find a vet that would do hormone sparing spay and could not find a single one in my entire state. All three ended up with what they refer to as a spay coat, so I knew they were not adapting to being spayed very well. So I ended up addressing the hormone changes with adaptogens. I do use mushrooms prophylactically, but I’d like to learn more about how to use these extracts and all these things prophylactically for their particular qi.
