  1. All I can say: I had dangerously high blood pressure in my 20’s. I developed chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia which wiped out my 30’s and 40’s. STRESS I couldn’t escape or deal with properly. Overwhelmed. At 56 and on marijuana , my blood pressure is 114/77 at the DENTIST. What it did for me the most was to alleviate my crushing pain and fatigue so I could begin to exercise (just walking and beginning to work again), feed myself better, and generally care better for myself. Also, to be able to realistically face my issues and begin to climb out of the deep pit I was living in. I stay away from doctors and their drugs as much as possible. They either don’t believe you’re in “real pain,” or they over medicate with 10 different meds with 10 different side effects necessitating 10 more meds. And the whole expensive humiliation rituals with medical people is something I avoid like the plague. I survived the opioid epidemic!!! I carried a backpack of prescription medicines everywhere I went. Marijuana is very nearly a cure all for me. Weed has no overdoses or unbearable withdrawals. It’s my miracle medicine. Although it makes me an outlaw where I live.

  2. In my experience my pressure went up after taking thc edibles, however I am unsure of the strain, I suspect that a indica strain that is designed to create a more relaxed sensation may have a different effect

  4. Hi Dr. Rachna. When you said that your patients didn't see any lower blood pressure after smoking marijuana for a year, had they also stopped taking their blood pressure medications for that year? I ask because my blood pressure seems to have dropped from a consistent 160/105 to 136/82 (measured at the doctor's clinic). But I also stopped taking my blood pressure meds during that period. You mentioned that rats with normal blood pressure did not see any changes while taking marijuana. But were the rats taking blood pressure meds in the study? Could it be that the blood pressure meds are blocking the CB receptors, or lowering the blood pressure enough that the effects are unnoticeable?

  5. All Marijuana raises blood pressure..period..Dont believe me, have a chat with a 35 year smoking junky, you would be lucky to get a word in edgewise. Whew! My buddy has been smoking for a long time, and his blood pressure is off the charts, I ask a simple question, and I get a raging scream. He takes blood pressure pills because he smokes the wacky tobaccy. Hint, don't argue with a pot junky in real time, you might need a tranquilizer. LOL!!!!
