In my years with cattle, dogs horses I used good kelpie.they would herd on their own . They would bite the heal or the nose depending on the need and the direction they had go.
The dog that’s the same color as the dirt, that’s a thinker. She actually notices when all the dogs are circling in one direction and she stops and goes the opposite direction.
I grew up using heel dogs working feed lots and auction yards. I became interested in Catahoula dogs and got a couple brought in from Louisiana. They were driving me nuts try to make them into something they weren't. I got to be friends with Choc and Gary Erickson (founders of the hangin tree cowdogs.) They took me and my Catahoula dogs out into a 40 acre pasture, turned 15 head of roping cattle loose. I thought "oh great! No catch pens, no panels, just me and my "untrained" wild go yonder Catahoula half grown dogs and his foundation dog Scott. Gary taught me the mind of my dogs. Next thing, I was riding in front of the cattle, my dogs were behind, Scott insured all was well and Gary and Choc rode along smiling. First time I saw curs and Catahoulas on your YouTube channel I hit "like" and "subscribe!" I'm a big fan of your family. God bless yall!
Good stuff Ramzi! Everything needs to learn how things work on the ranch… dogs, cattle, kids, everything needs to learn. Can't wait to see what's next.
It seems as if the main bloodline of the dogs is “hound” I don’t see and Blue or Red hellers , Australian shepherd. . I have had success with them and thought I would ask. Glad to see a new post from my favorite UTube
That one little pup trying to keep up is hilarious. Grateful for the educational your sharing about ranch dogs and cattle education. No ranches in eastern Canada , no open range either , sadly.
You and Bundy ranch are the only ones that I have ever seen use dogs to the extent that we do in the south. Between swamps and thick timber country we have no choice but to use dogs this way to gather cattle that have gotten out or went rogue
Hope your cold gets better
Outstanding work gentlemen.

Great job! That’s how it’s done down in South Louisiana.

I’m so glad my cattle are bucket trained. 😂😂😂
A bit of controlled chaos but informative Ramzi. Enjoyed it! Much Love to ABR! 💜💜💜 Granny Nanny
good job
I know the dogs are fast, but I image every once in a while they get kicked or stepped on anyway.
This why I watch this show . Maybe one time you could do a walk through of all your dog and give a little background on them
About how many heifers were in the group when you were training dogs ❤
Closest thing to a stampede I've seen in awhile, LOL

Interesting
How many replacement heifers are you going to run
Another good one guys it sure doesn’t take them cattle long to figure it out
👍
The dogs' instincts to work as a pack, and the cattle's instinct to herd together, form a winning combination.
Ur one awesome rancher
