  1. It’s not a s crazy as Canada. Marijuana dispensaries are under government control and few are now able to sell cocaine providing the customer has a note from his doctor. So far there are 3 dispensaries that sell cocaine.

  2. its a challenging issue to deal with. when people use hard drugs they enter a criminal run system that is violent and wrecks many many lives. taking the criminal element away could be beneficial. but only if done nationally with addiction treatment support. to have a few individual states do it, creates a magnet effect, so the issue explodes exponentially if no treatment is available.

  3. All states, will decriminalize anything they can't stop, but only after developing a product to sell, and the ability to control the profits. Why should street dealers make billions from illegal drugs? The drugs can be safely made in government supported labs, and the profits shared with big business.
Not long ago, betting on MLB/NHL/NFL/MBA, would be considered illegal, and a player/coach/agent of either sport banned from their sport for life.
Today, the games are interrupted with ads to take part in the betting process. Funny how $$$ changes the way business, and governments, are operated.

  4. Portugal had a very bad drug problem the decriminalised all drugs. The result. Drug related crime dropped massively. Few people died from drugs. Drug addiction dropped. However it was only decriminalised for uses not for dealers. They went to prison. Addiction is an illness.

  5. Meanwhile, here in Canada, Trudeau is tabling a bill to criminalize hate speech (determined by him) with highest penalty being a life sentence.
