how about doing some that is environmentally friendly by using natural acids like table vinegar or lemon juice or orange juice and keeping the lye for big companies to screw our environment over even more … sure you have to soak and boil longer .. but you can also add crab apples to the boil and infuse natural pectin into the fibers and water … and the water is safe to use on low ph soil … to raise it up ..
