Josephine County man accused of luring and dealing marijuana to children

TAKILMA, Ore. — An Illinois Valley man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly tried to lure one child into sex and deliver marijuana to another, according to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office joined with Oregon State Police, Grants Pass Police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the US Marshals Service, and Homeland Security to serve a search warrant in the 9000-block of Takilma Road “regarding online luring of a minor and an illegal marijuana operation.”

35-year-old Christopher Meyer allegedly meant to meet up with a child for sex, and deliver marijuana to another minor. Officers took Meyer into custody based on information gathered during the investigation and searched his residence.

Meyer was booked in the Josephine County Jail and charged with luring a minor, sexual corruption of a child, unlawful delivery of marijuana to a minor, and tampering with evidence.

“At the time of this press release, the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
