Two arrested for marijuana in Hawarden | News

HAWARDEN—Two Hawarden residents were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop about 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

The arrests of 21-year-old Chase Michael Ranschau and 18-year-old Tavon Kylen Powelson stemmed from the stop of a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan that Ranschau was driving on Highway 10 in Hawarden, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

The odor of marijuana was detected, and cigars along with marijuana and THC gummies were located.

Ranschau was charged with possession of a controlled substance — marijuana — third or subsequent offense and driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked

Powelson, a passenger, was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
