Thanks for sharing the brand and where you got it from. I found one on Amazon and it was not cheap, so the one you got is a terrific alternative. I tried the hemp once with my sweet Chipper, rest her little soul, and she liked to dig in it and used it as a potty. But I think she tried to eat it too, so I had to remove it. I might try it again with my Syrian in areas he doesn’t burrow in. Thanks again for sharing!
Oh that's good to know of a brand to recommend for people in the states I use it as a base under Twinkle's house, he too has kidney problems and I find this is way better for odour control than paper. I put paper on the top so nice and cosy still. I also mix it in with paper bedding elsewhere on the cage and it seems to hold burrows ok. I use aubiose in the UK. I am allergic, but the main problem occurs for me when cleaning out/setting up the cage, so I keep arms covered and have the air purifier on, makes a lot of difference.
very interesting …how your hamsters reaccted to having hemp bedding in their enclosures . a restrained and thoughtful approach to its use should be tried by all hamster owners when using hemp for the first time . i personally have never used hemp bedding so cannot tell you of my experiances using it at all.

Sofia and Steven are very cute. Laverne is very cute too. I love watching her drink water.
Cotton is dangerous to hamsters. Their tiny feet get tangled up in it and so can their intestines. If you're not using hemp, don't use cotton either.
