Woman sentenced to two years in prison after hundreds of pounds of marijuana, over $100,000 in cash

Three people face multiple charges after police discovered hundreds of pounds of marijuana and marijuana products, along with more than $100,000 in cash, at two addresses on Happy Valley Drive, including boxes of THC-laced edibles.

OSHKOSH – A woman charged after police found hundreds of pounds of marijuana and marijuana-related products at two homes in Fox Crossing was sentenced to two years in prison.

Ashtyn Hale, 29, pleaded no contest in February to multiple drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute more than 10,000 grams of marijuana. In addition to prison time, Winnebago County Judge LaKeisha Haase sentenced Hale to five years of extended supervision, according to court records.

Hale is the third person sentenced in the case. John Hale, 59, was sentenced in February to a year in jail, with a two-year prison sentence imposed and stayed. Billie Gerver, 58, was sentenced in February to six months in jail and three years of probation.

The investigation began June 17, 2020, when investigators got a tip about several suspicious packages from California sent to a residence on Happy Valley Drive, the Fox Crossing Police Department said.

Police got a warrant and searched the residence about a month later on July 20 and found about $40,000 in cash and several ledgers related to the sale of marijuana.

The investigation led police to another residence on Happy Valley Drive, where they found another $20,000 in cash inside a safe, along with “several hundred pounds of different types of marijuana,” including raw marijuana, edibles, wax and vape cartridges, police said.

In total, the investigation has “yielded well over $100,000 in cash, other assets” and hundreds of pounds marijuana and marijuana-related products, police said.
