  1. Before the pandemic I used to drink few shots and go to work next with little stomach pain (liver). Now it's been 2 years and trying to quit. Thought it was cool to have a beer after work but once I start it can last for weeks and losing work days. So I think it's better not to touch even a drop.

  2. I got prescribed Ativan or known as lorazepam but I'm still not taking them and still drinking cause I'm so scared that when I quit cold turkey the first day at night I got so itchy and didn't sleep the second day itchy every 15 seconds all around the body and still no sleep and the third day still itchy and no sleep and then It was thundering outside so I thought maybe I'm just having hallucinations from the thunder but I saw like something pass by in the air and then my floor was moving and every where I turned I moved see like on the sides things moving and then bammmm it hit me the biggest panic attack I ever had. I was shaking so bad and my breath went away I thought I was going to die. It was the longest 20 minutes I ever felt to get to the hospital. They gave me lorazepam but I'm scared if I stop it's going to be a ugly recovery 😔😔😔I don't drink nomore to feel good nomore I now drink so I won't feel bad 😞

  3. I wanted to step in and say hi. To anyone who’s reading the battle is hard but it can be done. I didn’t drink everyday but when I had weekends off I would drink from the second I woke up till the second I blacked out for 3 or 4 days straight. I would puke violently because my stomach didn’t want it but I still continued to drink. I didn’t want people to know about my benders so I would literally sleep in my car so I could drink….I didn’t even drink with people….only myself. I suffer pretty badly from depression and I guess my hope was that one of my benders would push me so far mentally that I might unalive myself…I have relapsed more times than I can count. After hospital visits and rehab I’ve finally got 9 months sober. Remember that just because you don’t drink everyday doesn’t mean your not an alcoholic. Alcoholism comes in many forms. I wouldn’t wish the pain this has caused me and my family on anyone. To anyone struggling you are loved and please seek help because you matter

  4. Been drinking almost every other day. And a lot. For three years I’m 24, seizures. Fainting, I’m quitting today . It’s my last straw, doing this for myself and my grandma r.i.p Sandra 🥲

  5. For the past three years, I have been drinking an excessive amount of alcohol. Whisky mainly. I could go 2 days without drinking but the third day was just too daunting. I decided I needed to quit as I started to suffer health effects including chest pains. Now I’m 7 days gone cold turkey and I felt fine until two nights ago when my sleep felt interrupted, I developed a headache yesterday and last night really struggled to sleep. That said, compared to what others are writing, it seems my situation is not as serious. I hope having gone cold turkey will not have dangerous side effects for me. I can now claim that after seven days of cold turkey my chest pains and other discomforts have largely disappeared.

  6. This probably sounds cliche but I watched this video twice trying to be reassured, I drank 14 drinks yesterday then had 8 today and still felt like death, depressed, irritated, dehydrated, but I also quit marijuana today and had only a small bit yesterday. Sp this isn't scientific, just saying once I smoked specifically Indica, not Sativa, sativa can ramp you up, indica, I am suddenly better, and I did taper to 8, but for some reason legal Kratom and indica do the trick, but of course too much of that and you got another dependency, beats alcohol withdrawal symptoms if you have access. Kratom has helped me usually but sometimes I don't have it, or I drink so much it's physical. Hope everyone can find ways to reduce harm with our love of alcohol, it's a weird deal to have.

  7. Im so mad at myself because I didnt think I was an alcoholic and then it became not think I am one yet. But here I am realizing today Im getting withdrawal symptoms and have to taper off.

  8. Tapper down with a alcohol you hate. I used a very bitter ipa I could only handle 1 at a time. I was 12 pack a day guy and struggled to do 5 of those ipa’s in a day

  9. I have an opiate problem… I want to get off, but the WD symptoms are too bad. I wish I was strong enough to quit… It will be awhile, unfortunately.

  10. I'M ONLY IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT'S EASIER FOR ME TO READ. ANYWAY, I'VE BEEN KEEPING A TALLY OF SHOTS (VODKA)ONCE DITSILLED)) CONSUMED SINCE 2019, THE BENCHMARCK IS 28/DAY. CURRENTLY I'M AT 13-16/ DAY. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET BELOW THAT. I GET THE SHAKES. IT TAKES ONE SHOT FOR THE SHAKES TO GO AWAY. AS MY TOLERENCE AND INTAKE DECREASES, I FEEL MORE SHAKEY AND DISORIENTATED. IT'S A FIGHT. CURRENTLY I'M TAKING HYDROXYZINE AS NEEDED. MY HANDS ARE TREMBLING AS I'M TYPING. I'M SIMPLY SPREADING INFO. IN MY OPINION, THIS PROCESS TAKES MUCH MUCH LONGER THAN STATED IN THIS VIDEO. I'M NOT ARGUING. HOWEVER,I'M SUPPLYING A LENGTHY HEADS UP. I HOPE ALL OF YOU GET BETTER ASAP. IT DOESN'T HELP THAT ALCOHOL IS LEGAL AND IT'S AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE AT ABOUT EVERY CORNER WHERE I LIVE. I THINK FOR EVERY LIQUOR STORE THERE ARE TWO CHURCHES THAT NO ONE ATTENDS. JUST SAYING.

  11. I been drinking heavy for a little while now( like at least a full pint a day for a year or so) and I stopped at noon yesterday and now it's 4 pm today and I don't have any shakes or heave withdrawals.. just nervous thoughts really about financial stuff. I thought it would be much more intense so am I lucky? Does it kickin more after 30 to 48 hours? I heard the withdrawals kick in around 8 to 24 hours as a heavy drinker.

  12. Most doctors don’t know anything about this topic. Best way to
Withdrawal is make sure you don’t have to do anything for 2-3 days. Get a decent amount of benzodiazepines. They help with most of the anxiety and uncomfortability…. go to grocery get healthy fruits and veggies as well as garlic, v8 juice. Try to learn relatively light but healthy. Do some activity that doesn’t require much thought like watching re Runs of a funny tv show or simple take a long walk. Try to shower as that will make you feel better and load up on magnesium, b vitamins, fish oil. remember most doctors. Most don’t really understand this. Unless you go through it, it’s hard to comprehend….
Once clean. Start a light gym routine and then
    Eventually get
Blood work done. Not right away as everything will be elevated and won’t be necessarily true as it can flinctuate and then try to get
    MRI on abdomen as heavy
Alcohol use not only effects your liver, but often alcoholics have enlarged spleens and
    Possible pancreatitis.

  13. Remember, the taper method doesn't mean get drunk again. It means slowly sip on beers to keep the shakes down. If you do wake up shaking/sweating/dotoxing sip on a beer and go back to bed. I've had detoxes that took two days before the shaking and sweats went away. Just taper slowly and don't get "noticeably drunk." Also get some vitamins in your system and food. I like to drink a ton of Kombucha while I'm detoxing off alcohol also. It's normal to feel anxious/scared/nightmares all that FUN STUFF! that comes with being an alcoholic. Good luck.

  14. Tampering Down is much harder than total cold turkey. Because once you’re addicted to it,its need more and more which makes it the opposite to cut it down. Instead I did the opposite. It’s very hard but we all know the physical and mental sickness would finally disappear no matter how heavy or how long we drank. The most important thing I did was I didn’t take any alternate medications which makes us sometimes harder live without them. Don’t try to take those sedative and psychological medicine s because once we stop drinking our body already started detoxing and recovery mentally and physically in which the cravings and sickness are important part of recovery and it will be gone in days.

  15. I’ve quit several times. Weed helps with the withdrawal symptoms.
The only problem is I see no reason to quit. It’s the only thing that’s stopping me from killing myself. I have a will to live but no drive, no real purpose. I don’t want to die. I just see no real reason to be here anymore.
Hobbies don’t interest me anymore. Music doesn’t interest me anymore. I can only enjoy music in the middle of the night drunk.
I’m a 44 year old barren wife. My husband is the epitome of supportive.
We live our lives to pay bills. One bedroom apartment. One car. Both work. 20 years together. I cook well balanced meals. Only eat fast food once every 2 months or so. Don’t even have time to go back to school. Bills need to be paid. What the hell is the point?

  16. Tried to quit cold turkey. 1st day was fine. 2nd day I couldn't sleep. Woke up 6 times during the night drenched in sweat. Lower back hurt in my kidney area. Urine was a deep dark yellow. 3rd day I was having what felt like heart palpitations. All of that went away after I drunk 2 beers. Going to try the tapering method. Hopefully it works.

  17. Seemed impossible, but it’s been over 7 months and I don’t crave a drop of alcohol, the KEY difference was that I didn’t suffer withdrawal, not even within the first 30 days after I actually applied what I talked about. No need for AA meetings or meds either, I just luckily go’ogled Steffon Barkload’s latest, man, wish I had done it sooner.

  18. I'm in the process. A slow process. I bring a small amount to work to drink to stop the shakes at lunchtime. I think googling has put fear in me because all the information is from rehab clinics that want your money. They put fear of seizures and death in your mind unless you go to rehab. I have been a heavy liquor drinker for 15 years and want to stop!!! I have good weeks and bad weeks. I have NO support which is the hardest part. I do good until the physical effects take place, then I have to drink to put them in check. Tried phenibut but no avail. THIS IS BEATABLE!!!! I WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!

  19. ive only been drinking beer but have 2-4 beers a day usually , sometimes 24oz cans of stuff thats like 8.1% ABV and sometimes 40s or 42oz beers that are like 7.5-8.1 percent … only thing is ive been drinking daily for like a couple or few weeks probably and i need to stop drinking for atleast a few days probably and only have a few days to quit drinking and have alcohol out of my system … am prescribed ativan wich might help me got off the alcohol… i take it for anxiety and hear it helps with alcohol withdrawals… one of the better things you can have probably.. … im not trying to lose my ativan script because i need it . i have anxiety pretty much daily . …

  20. I have worse alcohol withdrawl simptoms that i got from opioids…i dont do drugs but i drink a lot…every mornijg i get tremors, muscle twitching,ichines..untill i drink few shots or few beers…i know it sounds weird but its true…

  21. I'm doing it the dangerous way, I don't really drink much in my opinion…..but my friends say 3 32oz millers before work is a problem. I had a 24 oz yesterday at like noon and didn't drink anymore. By the end of the night a mean headache started so I went to lay down, and that's when I felt extremely cold and started shaking, I slept with all my clothes on and a quilt last night. I feel slightly better than yesterday but the headache is still there and my skin feels like kinda how it does when your sick with a fever🤷no fever though. I feel I should be fine in a few days👌🏼
