Adele is opening up about a health issue after stumbling onstage during her Las Vegas residence.
In videos that are circulating online from one of her shows, Adele can be heard saying, “I have a wobble these days because I have really bad sciatica.”
Sciatica, in case you’re not familiar with it, is pain that travels down the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back through the hips and butt and down each leg, according to the Mayo Clinic. Symptoms can range from a mild ache to sharp, burning pain, and it can sometimes even feel like an electric shock, the Mayo Clinic says. The condition can also get worse when you cough, sneeze, or sit for a long time.
Worth noting: Whoopi Goldberg actually needed to use a walker in 2021 after experiencing intense sciatica pain.
This isn’t the first time Adele has spoken about back pain. She told The Face in 2021 that she’s had back issues since she was a teen. “I slipped my first disk when I was 15 from sneezing,” she said. “I was in bed and I sneezed and my fifth one flew out. In January, I slipped my sixth one, my L6.”
Adele also shared that she’s “been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really. It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture.”

Plenty of people have commented on the news on social media, offering their advice and support for Adele. “Sciatica is absolutely dreadful. Unless you’ve experienced it, you can’t fully imagine the excruciating bouts of pain. Wishing you well @Adele,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Others offered up advice to try and help the star with her pain, suggesting things like yoga, cortisone injections, and CBD, with one person adding, “sciatica is THE worst!”
Adele hasn’t said anything further about her sciatica in public, but everyone is hoping she feels better soon!
