great review as always! Yeah, I also thought that probably all first scenes of each episode will be a little piece of the story behind, a flashback that will be filling gaps or explaining things we see in the 'present'
Oysters Clams and Clickers ahahahā¦oh fwiw fungi are their own distinct kingdom of life, distinct from animals and plants, though there is increasing theories that fungi and animals share a genetic heritage.
One other thing: the mycelial web, the underground fibrous network that links fungi species, is real and true. So even if itās not part of the video game it is a real feature of fungal life, so it works logically.
I'm excited to keep hearing you guys discussing the series knowing that you haven't gotten all the way through the game. I really need to hear from someone who has that perspective. Great video guys.
Itās so interesting hearing there view pints on the game and what they think certain things mean because I have play both the first and second game to full. I think itās great that they show is not scene for scene like that game it was be boring for those who have played
OCC : Raping, slaving all the bad stuff like the Iron Islands, shout out to the Iron Islands. Iron Islanders: We do that because "what is dead may never die"
Burn Barrett at the stake. How dare he. Lmao jk. Ppl criticize shows for not being loyal to the games/source material and then ppl criticize them for being too loyal. They canāt win š I sort of see both sides too. Idk. But modern writers have failed me too many times when they try new stuff, so Iād much prefer whatever you call what this show is doing.
Love the cold open scene giving more context. Those additions they are giving us are so good.
Also the cookies that Sarah rejects cause they were raisins. There was way too much bread/grain talk for it not to be all purposeful. That old lady prob got it from the biscuits he was shovin in her mouth š
I tend to agree with Barrett on the green screen points – especially in the scene where they walked over the plank. But other than that, I loved the episode. I think the slower pacing set up the gravity of the situation well, and the clicker scene recreation was about as good of an adaptation as I could have hoped for. That being said, what threw me off was the showrunners' choice to use the infected to break into the capital rather than FEDRA, but I trust the explanation given in the after the episode. Excellent pod guys
interesting perspective on ep 2 from yall. I thought ep2 was a step up from 1 and an absolute roller coaster. If it weren't for the walking around and slower pace at moments, i think i would have had a heart attack haha

The fact that he keeps guessing plot points that are gonna come up later is super impressive š

Barret dropping shower pro tips and pacific rim references what a modern day Renaissance Man! Ross is cool too… in his mushroom fit

I still very much enjoyed this episode but I understand Barrettās criticism. The pace definitely was a bit slow but I didnāt mind too much
