The man couldn't confront his wife for whatever reasons. He was a pressure pot and took it until he didn't. I think he's weak for letting her ride him to a point of madness before confronting it. I have 0 explanation for his snapping on his babies but deep inside thats what will torture him until he dies. I do think he saw his wife in one of his girls because I heard him say shes like her Mother. He's a weak man, beaten down by a domineering woman, who saw a soft and exciting landing in his new woman. Unfortunately I think she would have taken him for ride given enough time. I'm sure he needed to feel loved but how anyone could put their personal needs ahead of their children's veey lives is sick. The better they are at using these covert resources and skills, the more difficult they are to spot. I was raised by (and survived ) a person like Watts-and am now a shrink. I spent a good amount of my career working with these individuals. We are still in the nascence of clinically studying, understanding and treating this population.

Now that I watched this episode with Megan Kelly, I can look back in time, and realize how MANY times I got SO close to ending up like this lady. He had that seething anger/rage, was never home and cheated- lied for 10 years. He WAS living the life he really wanted… Four children later, ( I confronted him with my evidence 6 months pregnant….😢) we got a divorce. I filed, after he had left. Maybe he left so he wouldn’t do the unthinkable. By the way…. his reaction to my first pregnancy was worse than Chris Watts in that video. I was mortified. Long story short, he got entangled with a woman who is a living nightmare, and he misses his old life with us. I’m just glad to be alive.
