My mom is on methadone for life apparently. She has been on it since I was 8-9. Iām 26 now. She is what they call a āliferā. I REFUSE to be that. I love her to death but I actually want to be normal for my 3 babies. I take 1-.1.5 tablets daily. I canāt get out of bed unless I take a half atleast. I lost my drive for life and it all feels so dark and gloomy every single day. Nothing has helped but I notice when I wean or taper (similar to Xanax) , I feel more emotions,I can think,I can feel my blood flow again. These drugs are the worst and best creations by humans. Theyāre the devil in disguise for 8-10 of us. Those are 2% are the ones who truly need it or benefit from it

I can still smoke pot and it never makes me want to do another drug or anything like that. I smoke every day for a couple weeks and then I may not for a week…it just depends on how much pain im in or anxiety. If I drink it is a different story! I start thinking about getting loaded and basically fiend for opioids or something else. I'm also not able to function if i drink…basically my day is shot if i have a drink early. The drinking just leads right to trouble.
